গত গ্রীষ্মে আমরা কলকাতায় গিয়েছিলাম।

Last summer we went to visit family in Kolkata, where my uncle and aunt live. We travelled by train, which took about two days but the view from the window was wonderful. In Kolkata we saw the Victoria Memorial and Howrah Bridge.

আমরা একটি ছোট, পরিষ্কার হোটেলে ছিলাম।

We stayed in a small hotel near the city centre. The room was small but clean, and the hotel staff were very helpful. In my opinion, finding a good hotel is important when travelling, because it affects the whole holiday experience.

আমরা রাস্তার ধারে পুচকা খেয়েছিলাম।

One of the best parts of the trip was trying the local food. We ate puchka and kachori from street stalls, which were delicious. I think trying food from a new place is a good way to learn about the culture.

বৃষ্টির কারণে একটি পরিকল্পনা বাতিল হয়েছিল।

Not everything goes smoothly on holiday. One day we had to cancel a trip plan because of heavy rain. At first we were disappointed, but later we spent time playing cards at the hotel instead, which turned out to be fun in the end.

ভবিষ্যতে আমি বাংলাদেশে যেতে চাই।

In the future I want to travel abroad, especially to Bangladesh, because my roots are connected there. In my opinion, travel broadens our perspective and teaches us to be tolerant of different cultures.
