আমাদের উৎসব ও রীতিনীতি Our Customs and Festivals

দুর্গাপূজা আমাদের সবচেয়ে বড় উৎসব।

The biggest festival for my family is Durga Puja. It is celebrated for five days every year around October. We wear new clothes, visit pandals, and view the idols. On the last day the idol is immersed, which feels very emotional to watch.

পয়লা বৈশাখ বাংলা নববর্ষ।

Pohela Boishakh is the Bengali New Year, celebrated in April. On this day we wear traditional clothes and cook special Bengali food like panta bhat and hilsa fish. A Mangal Shobhajatra procession goes through the streets, with masks and colourful puppets.

আমার মুসলিম বন্ধুরা ঈদ উদযাপন করে।

My Muslim friends celebrate Eid with great joy, and they often invite me to their homes. I have noticed that during Eid families go to pray together, wear new clothes, and serve sweet vermicelli. Seeing festivals of different religions has taught me tolerance.

জন্মদিনে আমরা পায়েস খাই।

Besides festivals, our family has small traditions, like eating grandmother’s handmade payesh on birthdays. These small traditions keep our family bound together and pass down from generation to generation.

উৎসব আমাদের পরিচয়কে বাঁচিয়ে রাখে।

In my opinion, festivals are not just holidays, they keep us connected to our identity and history. Seeing different communities celebrate their festivals, I have understood that diversity makes our society beautiful.
